STATEMENT TO 1111 COLLECTORS FROM THE ARTIST:

It brings me great pleasure to both discover the precise parameters of the 1111 evolution, and to share them with my collectors.

I realise that for many of you, English is not your native language, but I am confident that you will find a way to translate this page.

From the moment each 1111 NFT was transferred to your wallet(s), data pertaining to behaviour within the wallet has been collected for the sake of informing the evolutionary process. Some of you have been collectors from the very start, while others have formalised their relationship with 1111 more recently. Some of you have divested yourselves of one or more 1111 works, but still have one or more in your wallet. Some of you have profited from buying and selling 1111 works, while others have not. Many of you have engaged with 1111 through social media channels, even proclaiming enthusiastically your appreciation of the work. Others are silent and watching from the shadows. Much of this behaviour has been recorded, but how it ultimately informs this evolution is not yet fully understood to me. 

As of today, 1111 collectors have received between 1 and 3 airdrops depending upon when they held an 1111 NFT. First, there were IAMACOIN ERC-20 tokens dropped at a ratio of 10 $IAMA to each 1111. Then, one work was dropped to each collector from my series "COMMENT OUT," regardless of how many 1111 NFTs were in their wallet(s).  The same was done with my series SUN SIGNALS. There were those who intentionally tried to game the latter two activations by splitting collections of multiple 1111's across multiple wallets in hopes of receiving additional airdrops. For the most part, this strategy was futile, while a few early wallet splitters did manage to intentionally or unintentionally subvert the airdrop methodology. There were even a few cases of accidentally airdropping two works to one collector. Some 1111 collectors chose to sell their airdropped NFTs, while others did not. Some even bought additional works from the airdropped series. While much of this behaviour has also been recorded as input data to inform the evolution, rest assured that none of it will manifest in a negative way. In any case, never fear art. 

For those of you who were expecting an airdrop today, I hope you overcome any disappointment. For those who thought perhaps 1111 KOSMOS was launching today... no, not yet. Now for the good stuff...

With 1111, I wanted to change the relationship between art and collector. I asked, "Do you collect art, or does art collect you?" Challenging the passive and perhaps predictable role of art within this relationship, I set out to apply a number of psychological levers that would amplify the intrinsic value of the work by engaging deeply with the collector.  Based on various channels of feedback, I believe that most collectors of 1111 sense that their relationship with the individual works and the project as a whole, has brought a "net positive value" to their lives.  The value art brings to us is immeasurable. Indeed, it is priceless. Of course, the economy that exists around 1111 and art in general has nothing to do with the "true value."

What happens now?  The line between art, artist and collector blurs.  We evolve.  

Each collector with at least one 1111 NFT in their wallet on November 11th, 2021 at 11:11 Pacific Standard Time (Blockchain snapshot taken to avoid confusion), has the opportunity to participate in the evolution.  Collectors may also choose not to participate, and that is their prerogative. The process starts now and the first step is contacting me personally.  You may send me a direct message through Twitter or Instagram.  You may email my studio. I will return contact as soon as possible and we will schedule a meeting at our mutual convenience, using a platform that works for us both. If you have not already been authenticated as an 1111 collector, I will have you authenticate by transferring a tiny and particular amount of ETH from your 1111 wallet to my wallet. Then, we will get to work! 

We will share secrets.  We will discuss matters that effect the health of our planet.  As the relationship between collector and artist evolves, so shall the art! Like a supernova, we will witness the formation of new celestial bodies, new and unique works, the result of your being, your behaviour, your desires, and our relationship through 1111. 

For the first 1111 (x) in your wallet, at the end of the evolutionary process, you will receive 1 evolved work (1x). For additional 1111 works held in your wallet, you will receive 1.111(x) evolved works. For example if you have 9 1111 NFTs in a wallet, the 1st yields 1 evolved and the other 8 yield 8.888 evolved, which rounds up to 9 for a total of 10 evolved works. The technical specifications of the evolved works will be revealed or otherwise decided during this evolutionary process. 

You have 30 days to make contact with me. The sooner, the better.  If for any reason you do not, you will not be able to participate in the 1111 evolution.
